"Innovative Technologies in Industrial Waste Water Treatment"
30 March 2016 - 31 March 2016
Water treatment and waste management strategies and technologies are currently undergoing rapid development. Actually, the discharge standards of solid and liquid waste are becoming increasingly stringent, therefore we must seek for new low cost and effective treatment methods. The Higher School of Sciences and Technology of Hammam Sousse (Sousse University), in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Center with the support of the FP4BATIW project organizes the third workshop of the project. It will take place in the heart of Sousse city and it will be an opportunity for leading experts, industrials, the government officials and representatives of civil society to meet and to present their research activities and experiences and to discuss new concepts and technologies.
The workshop focus on innovative aspects of industrial waste water treatment, presenting new technologies, describing the state of the art and related case studies, discussing the main controversial subjects, sharing experiences among different countries, valuating social and economical balances and launching new projects.
The workshop will be focused on the following topics:
- Textile wastewater treatment
- Agro-food water treatment
- Innovative technology: nanotechnology, photocatalysis, membranes, electrochemistry, osmosis, etc.
Moreover, a brokerage event will be organized with the aim of establishing successful relationships between researchers and industrial companies in the MPC area.

Tunisian Days on Alternatives Sources of Water" 19-21 December, 2015
As global water consumption is growing more and more due to the increase in world population and increasing ratios; conventional sources are drying up and / or salinized increasingly. Following this situation aggravated by disastrous climate change, large zones of water stress including Tunisia appeared.
To face this situation, Tunisia has started, at first, to introduce a policy based on saving water and secondly to seek alternative sources such as wastewater recycling and desalination brackish and sea water  which have become a strategic choice included in national plans. Given the multitude of associated techniques and technologies and associated choices, knowledge and know-how in these areas are needed. On this basis, a set of research structures, industrial and organizations working in the field have decided to launch the:
"Tunisian Days on Alternatives Sources of Water"
These days are intended as a forum where:
1/Â Industrials, academicians, civil society and policy makers:
- Set the state of the art knowledge and technologies in the areas of treatment and desalination of water,
- Share their knowledge and know-how.
- Advice Policymakers to wise choices.
